LOST
The theme of the exhibition Lost is the experience of being outside, which the characters in the works carry inside. They
live in their own world on the edge of the mainstream without bothering anyone. What they have in common is the atmosphere of anticipation.
Life is not an achievement for them. The pursuit of a goal has been replaced by something more essential. Where are we and
where are we going
The aesthetics in the woodcuts are sometimes like 80s vinyl record covers; everything is not so serious
although you can sense a melancholic atmosphere beneath the surface.
My works are often inspired by the music I listen to or the books I read. I like
of an aesthetic that springs from the marginal. There is often impulsive freedom on the fringes of the mainstream.
Independence that embodies a holistic attitude.
The Lost exhibition depicts dreamers and bystanders. It tells about characters who walk outside.
Tuukka Peltonen (born 1975) is a painter and printmaker who lives and works in Virroi.
Peltonen's works are among others in the collections of Kiama, Emma of the Museum of Modern Art, the Art Museum of the City of Helsinki and the State Collections.
